As the leaves begin turning orange, Paris is taken over by some of the most anticipated annual art events. From the Grand Palais all the way to the Carreau du Temple, FIAC and YIA Art Fair will be setting the mood for the upcoming weeks. Artists, collectors, and curious visitors will be arriving from all over France and internationally to take part to these key Parisian dates.
Historically, the Marais district of Paris is know for being the home and preferred location for some of the most renown art galleries. Renewing the MR Agency’s advocacy for talented artists, we are proud to host four French and international exhibitors this season.
Amongst the first guests arriving for this season is the franco-british contemporary artist Clement Joe Simonnet. His elegant and abstract lines offer its spectators a certain freedom of interpretation and self reflection. Previously presented at the Galerie Yoshii in Paris, it will be interesting to view Simonnet’s work in contrast with the industrial and minimal style of Galerie 21 in the Marais. The exhibition « De l’âme à la peau » will be opening from the 12th until the 14th of October.
With Oneroom Gallery, in the charming 80 rue de Turenne location, invitees and visitors will be able to admire the booming young Danish artist, Christiane Spangsberg. In a recent interview on L’Atelier Doree, the artist shares intimate reflections on her style and inspirations, as well as the excitement for an international exhibition in New York. In her upcoming French project, Christiane will presenting « Regarde Moi », an exhibition open to public from the 12th until the 17th of October, catching the attention of experts before the big crowds of the FIAC arrive.
Paving the way of the Street Art movement, Happy Gallery will be taking over Galerie MR 80 for their second Pop-up Show in Paris. An exciting composition of local and international artists including Speedy Graphito, Jef Aérosol, ChrisRWK, PEZ and The London Police will be presenting their work in the Marais between the 26th and the 28th of October.
In this unique occasion visitors will have the opportunity to discover and rediscover the artists work as well as seeing the new pieces edited by Happy Gallery created for this very occasion.
Another international artist joining MR Agency locations between the 7th and 11th of November is Jo Meisner from Sydney, Australia. In their quest to bring new talented artists to the French public, the curators Susan Boullier and Belén Canibano, have worked with Jo Meisner, leading up to the exhibition « Identity ». In his first solo show in France, Jo reworks photographs taken in the streets of the capital with carefully chosen textiles. Inspired by Paris and connected to the artists heritage, the exhibitions themes are Crowds in Transit as well as Crowd and the Individual.
This fall we hope you will have a chance to visit Melissa Regan Agency’s locations for an artistic experience via there four key exhibitions.
