Maison & Objet is an expansive luxury home and lifestyle fair occurring in Paris semiannually, traditionally held in January and September. This fair offers potential buyers the opportunity to discover and share unique experiences, taking place at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord in Villepinte. Uniting designers, artisans, interior design experts, and visitors, Maison & Objet showcases a vast range of products spanning the entire home and lifestyle spectrum. This event is exploding with popularity, with more than 600 new brands coming on board each year and over 80,000 visitors in attendance.
Uniquely in 2022, the dates of the fair were moved due to public safety precautions against the pandemic. Occurring from Thursday, March 24 to Monday, March 28, 2022, this year’s theme is “New Luxury” and will be featuring an installation imagined by Franklin Azzi, Maison & Objet’s designer of the year.
This 2022 fair will house nearly 2,000 exhibitors and many of these brands are utilizing this Spring to expand their retail presence. This event in the Parisian art world is causing a ripple effect, bringing more designers and ateliers to this world capital than ever before, and causing many to stick around.
Concurrently, for the first time held in Paris, hosted by Maison & Objet, is In the City. With its core competency being B-to-B, over 65 spots will be united creating one circuit. Simultaneous to Maison & Objet, In The City will take place from March 23rd to 28th, 2022.

Their core motto? “[To] look for beauty every day, for the good things that make life worth living, the things that create a home that inspires happiness.” Just in time for the Maison & Objet dates, Serax has just opened a permanent showroom in Le Marais through MR Agency. To be displayed at this year’s fair, the creative house has recently collaborated with the notable chef Ottolenghi on their newest collection named “Feast.” As we say here in Paris, Bon Appetit!

Proving just how attractive the Parisian market has become, many other designers featured in this year’s show have come to stay. Maison Matisse, launched by the family of Henri Matisse, works to create three-dimensional contemporary creations inspired by his work. They have just opened their newest flagship store Rue de Bac in the 7th arrondissement in order to present their collections in a space that compliments their design. Additionally, Popus Editions has also recently opened a flagship store place de Victoire. Their home furnishing and decor designs take inspiration from travel, combining contemporary and classic themes in their pieces. Next, and not to miss, PAD, a design fair occurring in the Tuileries Garden. Created in 1998, this art fair brings together galleries from France and those from across the world. Offering its visitors an, “exceptional journey of beauty,” this fair will be held from April 6th to 10th, 2022.
After this spring Paris cycle, the industry looks towards Salon de Meuble in Milan, whose fair was also postponed to April, due to reasons brought on by the pandemic. Shortly thereafter, the design world returns back to Paris for the fall, for fashion week, art, and all things design. Maison & Objet’s second event is scheduled to take place in September from Thursday, September 8th to Monday, September 12th, occurring alongside Paris Design Week. Many luxury brands are already reserving luxury showroom spaces for September in Paris for these events, in order to ensure their spot in this rapidly growing environment.
