The first 3 steps:

1 – Set the Date

Whether you are planning a religious or a secular ceremony, confirm the availabilities in your local City Hall in order to set the date.  The legal ceremony can, but does not have to be the same day as the religious or festive celebration that you are planning. Take these factors into account when deciding upon the date.

Despite delays and date changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are still possibilities for 2021. MR Agency can assist you in applying to a City Hall outside of your resident district if needed. 

If you are looking towards 2022, beware of certain periods when the majority of Parisian hotels and establishments can be full, such as during fashion weeks and the major trade shows, which are hopefully returning back to Paris post-Covid.

2 – Choice of the Reception Venue

The venue is the memorable location where your union will be celebrated with family and friends.  Even if you opt for a more “intimate” format due to the current sanitary recommendations, don’t neglect the importance of your choice.

This is one of the first steps in planning your wedding and this choice will impact the rest of the preparation process. This is a space in the heart of Paris, close to Saint Germain des Près, with a total surface area of ​​420m2 that is authorized to host public events until 2am. 3 – Invitations Preparation

As soon as the place is confirmed and the chosen date is suitable for your family and loved ones, it is time to start working on invitations. It is important to keep in mind that the invitations, as well as wedding announcements should be made in advance, to receive responses early enough, and adapt your wedding reception to a more precise number of guests.

Usually, the best time frame to do so is between three to four months before the big day. In this current Covid-19 period, guests are more flexible to be contacted ideally 2 months in advance for the summer and fall seasons. Either way, setting a deadline will provide you with needed answers. As an example, when choosing and confirming the caterer, the exact number of guests should be set at least 15 days prior to the reception.

Determine what you would ideally like to do: a cocktail event with service on passing trays, a buffet, a seated dinner or a clever mix of all three.
