Starting this September 5th, Design makes its comeback in Paris. For ten days, the annual Paris Design Week, overlapping the MAISON&OBJET fair, will be the place to be if you are into decoration, design and “art de vivre”. During this ninth edition, late-night openings, debates and installations will take place in 200 locations all over the French capital from showrooms, galleries, workshops and museums, to restaurants, boutiques, and hotels.
This year, the themes are Hybrid and the United States. These two guiding mottos, mixing design, know-how and showing American impact on creativity, will appeal to both design and multifunctional objects enthusiasts. Through numerous events set up in 4 districts (Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Les-Halles-Marais-Bastille, Opéra-Concorde-Étoile et Barbés-Stalingrad), it will be possible to meet creators and discover their works.
After showcases dedicated to Melissa Regan Editions and various designers in 2017, The MR Agency returns this year with a new cutting-edge exhibition combining vintage design and history of American space mission Apollo 11.
Located in the Haut-Marais area, rue de Turenne, the Galerie MR80 is hosting the exhibition ” Moon Landing: 50 years“ which shows everyday objects from the Space Age era, all more originality than the others. The design, directly inspired by the Moon Landing, is highlighted in this ephemeral display.
In line with the Paris Design Week, a lottery will be organized at the Galerie MR80, from 5th to 14th September. The visitors of “Moon Landing: 50 years” will have the opportunity to win 3 sixties design objects. Random drawing scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at 6pm live on Instagram.
Paris Design Week is also about encounters between designers and companies in places of culture and history. Attached to MR Agency, Melissa Regan proposes galleries and privatizable apartments for exhibitions, art sales and showrooms.
