According to the latest French government announcements, May 19 will mark the reopening of museums, monuments, cinemas, theaters and concert halls in France.  Art, culture and fashion will be in the spotlight with major arrivals in Paris.

While museums are closed, Parisian galleries are making the news on the cultural scene. While some are open in the Marais like Galleria Continua, others grow up on the famous Matignon avenue like groupe Perrotin and others are launching exhibitions simultaneously in several locations like Derouillon Gallery.

This end of January marked the start of what would appear to be a whole new functioning for fashion showrooms this season. Indeed, following world wide health measures due to the Covid-19 crisis, this January 2021 Fashion Week has been completely transformed compared to any previous January. The fashion shows of the major creators are taking place, such as Louis Vuitton for example, but the wholesale dynamic with Paris based fashion showrooms for the week, has completely been brought to a halt.

Parisian culture life radically shut down anew with the announcement of the second lockdown October 29th, 2020. While museums, cinemas and theatres remain closed, Parisians can still access certain cultural expressions via private exhibitions.

In order to support the Parisian cultural scene, The MR Agency launched a call to project for emerging artists to submit their work and get a chance to organize a three day solo exhibition at the MR80 Galerie, located in the heart of cultural Le Marais.

This October kicks off with Nuit Blanche, an annual Parisian night dedicated to contemporary art in the streets, followed by major exhibitions that are open all night long. The Professional Committee of Art Galleries enabled 200 member galleries to open and hold their events to affirm the capital's resilience and the solidarity of the art scene October 3rd.

Despite the world being is under global tension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on September 21st the French fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode published the official calendar with the list of physical shows for Women Spring Summer 2021 Collectinos. This Paris Fashion Week will kick off on Monday, September 28 with Mame Kurogouchi, a promising name in Japanese fashion, and will end, as usual, on Tuesday, October 6 with Louis Vuitton.

The September 2020 edition of Maison & Objet will not take place in its traditional form. At the very beginning of the year, Maison & Objet presented Franklin Azzi as the Designer of the Year for the next September edition. During the confinement, it was said that the show would be maintained; but the final decision has been made on June 11th.

In the era of social distancing, the global fashion industry is forced to accelerate even faster towards digitisation and must rely on innovative alternatives to physical fashion week presentations.  This season, in a context of regulated deconfinement, the cities of London, Paris and Milan are opting for an entirely digital Fashion Week. The English capital opened the ball rolling on Friday 12 June 2020 by orchestrating the very first digital rendez-vous dedicated to the presentation of British collections. 

With a progressive deconfinement, Paris based museums, both small and large, are reopening with new sanitary measures in place. While Covid-19 still circules, the French capital prepares for a summer cultural season never the less.  Cultural institutions, closed since mid-March, regardless of their size, have all had to reflect on how to reopen in the context of Covid-19, allowing for a gradual return to cultural life in Paris.
